Description: This 1-hour interactive session introduces a brain health fitness program, Ageless Grace®, that stimulates participant’s brains through movement, music and imagination. Intentionally nourishing the brain-body connection daily can help improve health and well-being, reduce stress, keep the brain agile and the body responsive. When body, mind, spirit, and emotions are in balance, health and well-being follow. Re-opening old and creating new neural pathways, and learning how to respond, react and recover helps to build cognitive resilience which can be drawn on as needed. These movements can be used with all ages and abilities and can be used in therapeutic and administrative settings to teach new skills creatively and provide often needed “brain breaks.”
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
· Define and explain neuroplasticity.
· Explain how physical activity enhances learning abilities.
· Describe how cognitive reserve and neuroplasticity are linked.
