This 1-hour interactive session introduces Laughter Yoga as a powerful mind-body practice to support emotional well-being, stability, and continued learning in therapeutic and administrative settings. Designed for recreation therapists, educators, and administrators, participants will explore foundational laughter techniques, breathing exercises, and playful movement to reduce stress, foster connection, and build resilience. The session will highlight practical strategies for integrating Laughter Yoga into recreation therapy programs, staff wellness initiatives, and community engagement. Through guided practice and reflection, attendees will experience how laughter can promote a sense of permanence and joy, especially during times of transition or burnout. Evidence-based benefits and real-world applications will be discussed, empowering professionals to adapt these tools to meet diverse client needs and foster professional growth. No experience necessary—just a willingness to breathe, laugh, and learn.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate at least 3 Laughter Yoga techniques to support emotional regulation and well-being.
  2. Describe how Laughter Yoga can promote continuity and stability in therapeutic and professional settings.
  3. Apply two strategies for incorporating Laughter Yoga into staff development, care plans, or self-care programs.
