This 1.5-hour session will introduce Laughter Yoga as a therapeutic tool for stress relief and emotional well-being. Participants will practice laughter techniques and breathing exercises designed to reduce stress and promote social connection. The session will also highlight evidence-based research supporting the benefits of Laughter Yoga in enhancing client engagement. Participants will leave with strategies to incorporate Laughter Yoga into therapeutic recreation programs, including creating personalized goals for clients.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate and practice one Laughter Yoga technique, explaining two benefits for stress relief.
  2. Summarize an evidence-based research study supporting Laughter Yoga's role in enhancing client engagement.
  3. Create a therapeutic goal using Laughter Yoga techniques for client improvement.

Presented by: Keelin Jardin, PhD, CTRS, RTC

Dr. Keelin Jardin is a certified Recreation Therapist and Laughter Yoga instructor with a passion for promoting wellness and emotional well-being. She holds a PhD in Mind-Body Medicine and specializes in therapeutic recreation, creative interventions, and mind-body practices. With extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings, Keelin has worked with diverse populations, focusing on stress reduction, mental health, and holistic healing. Keelin is also a California State University, East Bay lecturer and a Recreation Therapy Consultant.
