Amanda Andrade M.S. Gerontologist
Amanda Andrade is a Professor and gerontologist in the San Gabriel and Los Angeles areas. She is a down to earth, hard-working, and a creative woman with more ideas than she can handle! Amanda is extremely passionate about working with the senior population, and has been from a very young age. She tackles problems with creative solutions both individually and empowers the teams she works with to do the same.

Amanda has been a department manager for over 10 years, and thrives off of collaboration and joint ventures within the interdisciplinary team. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies, as well as a Master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and Gerontology from CSU Northridge. She has worked with the senior population in various formats over the years, from health and recreation, to planning and implementing programs for early through late stage Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Amanda is devoted to teaching and mentoring individuals across the life-span and through transitions that aging brings. She has been lucky enough to continue this educational quest as an adjunct professor at East Los Angeles College. As a certified Activity Leader, and holding an RCFE administrator license, she has worked with Rebecca Birotte, at Healthy Solutions for over 2 years to carefully craft new and innovative courses and materials to energize health care professionals to think “outside the box” and to best engage their clients!
